I highly recommend this video.
Let me give you a bit on where I am coming from. I was raised in an evangelical Christian home.
I did my undergraduate work at Duke University in physics, a doctorate in astrophysics at
Cornell. I then took two master’s degrees in biblical studies at Faith and Biblical Seminaries,
with additional work at Westminster Seminary and some graduate courses in religious thought at
the University of Pennsylvania. I have followed developments in evolutionary thought fairly
closely for over fifty years.
My memory has never been great, so I am not going to give you a blow-by-blow account of this
panel discussion. It is lively and interesting! The specialists are Michael Behe, John Lennox, and
Stephen Meyer, and their fields are respectively biochemistry, mathematics, and philosophy of
science, respectively. I have known Behe somewhat for years, even before he became famous. I
have met and know Meyer somewhat, and he helped with a book I co-authored entitled What’s
Darwin Got to Do With It? I have not met Lennox, but have heard much of him, and attended a
lecture he gave at the University of Virginia. I have read several books by Behe and Meyer, and
one by Lennox. The moderator, Peter Robinson, was quite good.
The panel discussion covers lots of ground in one and a half hours. It concentrates on the
inadequacies of Darwinian evolution, especially in the light of recent scientific discoveries. If
one is not into reading long books, this video is very valuable.
