Review of Walton’s “New Explorations in the Lost World of Genesis” Published.

Sadly, I believe that Walton’s work shows an increasing spiral into theologically liberal/critical thinking: He dismisses the historicity of Genesis 1-11, the Fall, and views Adam and Eve as archetypes, with no need for them to have been actual individuals. A careful reader may see this coming in his earlier works, but in this book the conclusions are very clear.

I am reminded of Howard Van Till, who openly left the faith after retiring from Calvin College. I would hope that Christian scholars would finish their race strong, but unfortunately, this often is not the case.
